Zongxing Xie
Biography
Dr. Zongxing Xie joined Kennesaw State University as a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science since Fall 2024.
His research interests span across multiple disciplines, including smart and connected health, wireless sensing, ubiquitous computing, Internet of Things, cyber-physical-human
systems, and machine learning.
He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Stony Brook University in Spring 2024.
Before that, he attained MS from Stony Brook University and B.Eng. from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.
Dr. Xie's past research contributes to smart and connected systems for passive and continuous in-home health monitoring
(computational screening and surveillance,
smart aging).
His professional efforts have been recognized by prestigious journals and conferences
such as ACM HEALTH, IEEE TMC, IEEE/ACM CHASE, ACM Buildsys, including one Best Paper Award at IEEE ICHI,
and one Best Student Paper Award at ACM BCB.
Dr. Xie is active in professional activities, including serving as the technical program committee (TPC) member in high-quality international conferences such as IEEE/ACM CHASE, BSN, MobiQuitous, RadarConf.
He also served as the reviewer for several top-tier journals, such as TMC, IoT-J, IMWUT, PMC.

2024/06: Presented "Passive and Context-Aware In-Home Vital Signs Monitoring Using Co-Located UWB-Depth Sensor Fusion" at IEEE/ACM CHASE 2024.

2024/05: Served as Program Committee Member of IEEE BSN 2024.
2024/04: Successfully defended PhD dissertation, and officially became Dr. Xie :-)
